New in town, staring at a parking zone sign, and not sure what you pay or which number to text? Parking Banja Luka works through three zones with different prices, and the charging hours, the SMS number and the ticket options all depend on the zone where you leave the car.

You need prices by zone, the hours when parking is charged, how paying by SMS works, where to park in the city centre and who to call when something goes wrong. Driving a rental car and unsure which registration plate to put in the message? That is covered too.

Banja Luka Parking Zones and Prices

Parking in Banja Luka is organised into zone 0, zone I and zone II, and the price depends on the zone sign at the spot where you leave the vehicle. According to the official data of the City of Banja Luka, checked on 26 September 2026, an hour of parking in zone 0 costs 2 KM (Bosnian convertible marks) for every hour started, while a day ticket is not listed in the current city tariff. In zone I one hour started costs 2 KM and the day ticket costs 7 KM. In zone II one hour started costs 1 KM and the day ticket costs 5 KM.

The safest sequence is to read the sign at the car park, identify the zone, and only then choose the hourly or the day option. Do not work out the zone from how close you are to the centre, because streets and car parks of different zones sit fairly close to each other. The sign on the spot is your starting point for the exact amount and the matching SMS number.

Zone 0 in the Centre of Banja Luka

Zone 0 covers, among others, I. F. Jukića, Milana Tepića near Petar Kočić Park, part of Srpska Street, and the closed car parks Zenit and Tržnica. In the innermost part of the city you can meet a tariff of 2 KM per hour started, but check the local zone sign before you send any message.

Zone I and the Day Ticket

Zone I also has an hourly price of 2 KM, plus a day ticket at 7 KM. Locations the City lists in zone I include Kastel, Vladike Platona, the public garage Vidovdanska, and parts or the whole of the streets Bana T. Lazarevića, Srpska, Kralja Alfonsa XIII, Sime Šolaje, Jevrejska and Đure Daničića. If the car will stay for longer, compare your time with the day option before you pay.

Banja Luka Parking Zone II: What You Pay

Zone II is the wider set of car parks and streets outside the first two zones. In zone II an hour of parking costs 1 KM and the day ticket costs 5 KM. Because zone II covers a larger area, do not try to memorise the list of streets. Read the zone sign on the spot and pay according to it.

If prices or zone boundaries change later, give priority to the current sign at the car park and to the official data of the City. Make sure the zone, the price and the method of payment all match before you leave the car, so you do not pay for the wrong zone because you relied on an earlier visit or an approximate spot.

Parking Charges and Charging Hours in Banja Luka

Parking is not charged the same way every day and at every location. According to the official website of the City of Banja Luka, checked on 26 September 2026, the general charging regime runs from 07:00 to 21:00 on working days and from 07:00 to 16:00 on Saturdays. Sundays have exceptions, so it is not true that parking across the whole of Banja Luka is automatically free.

At Tržnica, Kastel, Palas and Đure Daničića, parking is charged on Sundays from 07:00 to 16:00. The public garages Aleja Svetog Save block D and Vidovdanska are charged from 00:00 to 24:00 every day. The Malta bus terminal is charged from 06:00 to 22:00 every day.

Because of these differences, check the regime for the exact place where you park, especially at the weekend, early in the morning or late in the evening. In a zone on the general regime, the hour at which charging starts or ends can decide whether you pay the hourly rate or the day ticket. In a garage or at a location with a special regime, do not rely on the rule for ordinary street parking.

For Sundays, the one rule is to read the sign on the spot. That protects you from assuming that nothing is charged on that day, and it shows you straight away whether a special regime applies to your car park. For a longer stay in the centre, also check whether the location offers a day ticket, because that depends on the zone. Charging hours and ticket type are not the same thing: the zone determines the price and the payment options, while the schedule determines when charging applies.

If you have just arrived, make this order a habit: zone first, then whether charging is active at that moment, and only then how to pay. It helps most at weekends, when it is easy to apply a rule that belongs to another day or location.

Paying for Parking in Banja Luka by SMS

Paying for parking in Banja Luka by SMS takes a few steps, but the number you text depends on the zone and on whether you pay for one hour or for a day ticket. First find the zone sign. Then type only the registration plate of the vehicle into the message, without dashes. Send the message to the number that matches the zone and the type of ticket, wait for the confirmation reply, and check the registration and the zone in it.

SMS Parking in Banja Luka: Numbers by Zone

For zone 0, one hour of parking is paid by sending a message to 0835114, at a parking price of 2 KM. For zone I, one hour uses the number 0835101 at 2 KM, while the day ticket of 7 KM is paid on 0835102. For zone II, one hour costs 1 KM and uses the number 0835100, and the day ticket of 5 KM uses the number 0835103. These SMS numbers and prices were checked on 26 September 2026 on the official website of the City of Banja Luka.

Add no text, zone label or dashes to the message. If a registration plate is made up of letters and numbers, enter it as one unit without dashes. With a rental car, use the registration of the vehicle you actually picked up, not an example or a detail from your booking.

Sending the SMS is charged on top of the parking price, according to the operator's rules, while the notification message is free. Do not walk away right after sending. Payment is successful only when you receive the confirmation SMS. In it, check that the registration plate and the zone are correct, because that is the quickest way to spot a mistake.

What if the confirmation does not arrive? If the transaction is not successful, the official City website tells the user to contact the operator. Do not assume that parking is paid just because the message was sent. Keep the confirmation SMS while you use the parking space, especially on a short stay, so you never wonder later whether the payment went through.

SMS parking in Banja Luka is simplest when you follow the same pattern every time: zone, registration without dashes, the matching number, the confirmation reply and a check of the details. If you need a day ticket, first check that one is listed for your zone before you choose an SMS number.

Where to Park in the Centre of Banja Luka

Where to park in the centre of Banja Luka depends on where you are going, how long you are staying and which zone you see at the spot. Rather than hunting for one "best" place in advance, use a few central landmarks to understand the system, then check the zone, the tariff and the charging regime on the spot. A free space cannot be guaranteed, so you may have to check several car parks nearby.

Kastel Is in Zone I

At Kastel, note that according to the current city data this location is in zone I. That means the hourly tariff is 2 KM, and zone I also has a day ticket at 7 KM. Kastel is also one of the locations where parking is charged on Sundays from 07:00 to 16:00, so at the weekend the general working-hours rule does not cover every Sunday exception.

Petar Kočić Park and Zone 0

Near Petar Kočić Park, part of Milana Tepića street is listed in zone 0. There the price is 2 KM for every hour started, and a day ticket is not listed in the current city tariff checked on 26 September 2026. Around Petar Kočić Park or towards part of Srpska Street, do not decide the zone by how near the centre you are. Read the sign where you actually parked.

Vidovdanska Garage and the 24-Hour Regime

The public garage Vidovdanska belongs to zone I and is charged from 00:00 to 24:00 every day. If you arrive late in the evening or very early, that is an important difference from the general regime of street parking. Check the signs on the spot here too, especially for a longer stay.

For central locations a simple pattern works well: choose the part of the city that suits you, find an available space, look at the zone sign, check whether charging is active, and only then pay. If the space you planned to use is taken, repeat the same steps at the next car park, without assuming it belongs to the same zone. On a first visit, do not plan the whole route around an assumed parking spot: you make the final decision when you see a free space and the zone sign.

Parking in Banja Luka With a Rental Car

Parking in Banja Luka with a rental car uses the same city system as when you drive your own car. For SMS payment you use the registration plate of the vehicle you have picked up, without dashes, and you send it to the number that matches the parking zone and the option you chose. Not your booking number, your personal details or any other identifier.

Before you leave the vehicle, wait for the confirmation SMS and check the registration and the zone in it. If the confirmation does not arrive or the transaction was not successful, contact the operator or the Parking Service as instructed by the city. We cannot confirm a city parking payment in place of the Parking Service, or resolve a dispute about a charge.

With a rental vehicle, treat parking obligations as part of using the car. Under our rental terms, fines, lost items and other costs arising from the use of the vehicle are borne by the client, and we do not cover them. So check the zone, the charging hours and your payment confirmation right after you park.

If you pick the vehicle up in our Banja Luka service area, we arrange pick-up and return in advance. You can ask us for practical orientation towards the part of the city you are heading to, but the sign at the car park and the City's official data remain the authority for zone, price and charging regime.

For details on responsibility while you use the vehicle, see our rental terms. If you are still planning your arrival, you can arrange pick-up of the vehicle in Banja Luka in advance, and then pay for parking under the rules of the city zone where you leave the car. We arrange the rental and the pick-up; the city Parking Service runs the city charging system.

If you move from one zone to another, match the new payment to the sign at the new spot. The same SMS number does not apply just because you stayed in the city centre.
